Biothan clear casting resin
Biothan
2 MD 775 N with the hardener Biodur M 330 or M 332
(Vacuum Casting Resin, transparent, for big parts)
Description:
Biothan 2 MD 775 N is a casting resin composed of sugar-, Caprolacton-
and OLEO -polyols with several proprietary natural additives, which
is especially characterized by high temperature stability and a
good impact viscosity. The material is well suited for polishing.
The low viscosity of resin and hardener allows a quick, thorough
and easy mixing.
Following
are some of the particular characteristics of the casting resin
system:
-
no safety labeling requirements (for the resin as well as for the
hardener)
- long pot life - deform - time ratio
- toxicologically harmless to use in the casting
- cures without external heat application (thickness < 3 mm required
tempering at 55 - 60 °C)
- casted parts can be exposed to a temperature up to 150°C (minimized
hardening time)
- good mechanical / machining characteristics
- suited for vacuum casting
- transparent glassy and UV-stable
Application:
For production of negative and positive models and other transparent
parts

Application
Data:
Biothan
2 MD 775 N and hardener M 330 or M 332 are intensively mixed under
vacuum in a ratio of 1 : 1,5 (about 1 minute). Either the material
has to be left in the vacuum chamber after mixing for 4 - 6 minutes
or the air has to be sucked in vacuum for 2 - 5 minutes.
Generally,
the hardener needs to be weighed first. Then, the resin can be weighed
and both components can be mixed.
